Hoje é notícia no Guardian que em Inglaterra a enfermagem vai ser considerado um curso Superior com 4 anos:
"All new nurses will need to be educated to degree level from 2013, in one of the biggest changes in medical education in the history of the NHS.At present, nurses receive a diploma after two or three years of training but they will now have to complete three or four years to obtain a degree. The move is a result of changes to the way nurses work, including handling more advanced levels of practice, prescribing and specialist work in disease areas such as diabetes.
Nursing courses will match up to a set of standards set out by the Nursing & Midwifery Council and will include more practical experience outside hospitals."
Em Portugal esse curso é já há algum tempo um curso superior, e a nível Europeu já somos dos maiores exportadores de Enfermeiros, não só pela sua formação académica, mas pela flexibilidade linguística e de trabalho. Mas, a principal razão é o desemprego e emprego precário em Portugal.
